Professor Curtis Woodcock has held academic positions at the University of California, the City University of New York and Boston University and is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Geography at Boston University. He has research interests in the areas of remote sensing of vegetation, spatial modelling, and the inversion and use of canopy radiation models. His current research projects include: Monitoring change in temperate conifer forest ecosystems, modelling and forecasting effects of land use change in China based on socio-economic drivers, the assessment of land use and land cover change using remote sensing and artificial neural networks, and forest influences on the shortwave radiation regime over snow surfaces. He has also served on the Landsat 7 Science Team.
